Location
University Center : 310
Date & Time
September 15, 2016, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Description
Research
studies strongly suggest that active learning approaches in class help students
learn more than lecture alone. But switching from predominantly lecturing to
more active formats can seem daunting. How and when do you blend lecture with
more active pedagogies? What options do you have for making beginning steps
toward less lecture and more active learning? In this session we’ll briefly
discuss how active teaching approaches can promote better student learning and
model some strategies for incorporating more active learning into lectures.
Participants will share their experiences transitioning from pure lecture
alone. Lunch will be provided.
